WATER | FEIST
I can't stop thinking about cleaning and conserving water these days | when I found this song and realized the lyrics stated 'the water didn't realize it's dangerous size' I felt compelled to recognize that the element that could eradicate our species and life on Earth as we know it is merely an innocent victim of our trauma | there will be many more postings on H2O in this blog so for now worship the melody and the glory of Feist.
THE WATER
The telegraph cables hung
Few can decipher who the message is from
And deliver it quietly
'Cause some don't get much company
The harbor becomes the sea
And lighting the house keeps it collision free
Understand the lay of the land
Don't let it hurt you
Or it will be the first to
The water
The water didn't realize
Its dangerous size
The mountain
The mountain came to recognize
Its steep and rocky sides
More than realized
Pale as a pile of bones
You hope for your babies and this is how they grow
Wind-battered, knocked over
The teeth by the shoulder
Watching the gray sky that's acting like a good guy
The water
The water came to realize
Its dangerous size
The mountain
The mountain came to recognize
Its steep and rocky sides
Came to recognize
Its steep and rocky sides
More than realized

VETIVER

EVERYDAY
Every day, I'm away from you
Shakes me up inside
I wanna be near you
Know that you are here
Lyin' just next to me
How happy we'd both be
I say it all the time
You don't pay no mind
When I tell you that I love you
Now do ya ?
I wanna be clear
All I wanna hear is your voice
Have your face to see
How happy that would make me
Do-do-do-do-do (repeat)
I always seem to make
Something out of nothing
But I can't make you appear
While I'm away
Just know I'll play this song
For you and wait
Wait for me now (Do-do-do)
Wait for me now (o-oh)
Oh wait for me now (Do-do-do)
Wait for me now
Wait for me now

BOXED WATER

California usually leads the way, but the pressure is too great for our state to solve EVERY social and environmental issue...so GO MICHIGAN! | Plastic bottles are totally NOT PC | Recycling is cool | Compostable products are even better | and figuring out a way to consume water sustainably is our only choice | The idea for Boxed Water is BRILLIANT and makes me feel like my brain is cloudy | Get it in your hometown and cherish it like a cold glass of milk with a moustache.

DRAFT MODE
Green printing is no longer for the active environmentalist | if you don't already have a kitchy saying at the end of your email like:
$ please consider the environment before printing this email
$ save paper: think before you print
$ don’t print this, OK?
$ how many trees must be lost so you can print your e-mail? print responsibly
$ paper free = happy tree (my own sentiment and obvious favorite)
then feel free to do a good deed and add any of these green footers to your signature | but back to the point...you can save not only trees and paper, but INK, super expensive printer ink | here are a few tips:
$ set your printer (or print software) to Draft Mode and/or print Double-sided (yes, you can figure out which way the paper needs to go in to print on the back side of the page and put a nice little note on your printer as a reminder)
$ Inksaver software for Windows only lets you control the amount of ink your printer uses, helping you save up to 75% of your ink.
$ Greenprint software for Mac and Windows weeds out pages you don't want to print
$ add Ecofont to your list for a free typeface for Mac or PC that's designed to use as little ink as possible but is still readable
It takes a little to save alot so make a simple and mostly free choice to do just a little bit more and a little bit better than you did yesterday.
tipage provided by Ideal Bite who also provide literally green ($$) savings tips for recycling your ink cartridges.

PHOENIX
Check out his brand new song "1901" by the French band | their new album "Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix" releases on the 25th of May | you can download the song for free on the band's site.
1901
Counting all different ideas drifting away
Past and present they don't matter
Not if you just sort it out
Watch your moving in elliptical pattern
Think it's not what you say
What you say is way too complicated
For a minute thought I couldn't tell how to fall out
Oh It's 20 seconds till the last call
Going hey hey hey hey hey
By now, you know its easy
Like we did it all summer long
And I'll be anything you ask and more
Going hey hey hey hey hey
It's not a miracle we needed
And no I wouldn't let you think so
Falling, falling, falling, falling
Falling, falling, falling, falling
Girlfriend, you know your girlfriends drifting away
Past and present, 1855 1901
Watch them build up a material tower
Think it's not gonna stay, anyway, think it's overrated
For a minute, thought I couldn't tell how to fall out
Uh It's 20 seconds to the last call
Going hey hey hey hey hey
Lie down, you know it's easy
Like we did it all summer long
And I'll be anything you ask and more
Going hey hey hey hey hey
It's not a miracle we needed
And no, I wouldn't let you think so
Falling, falling, falling, falling

WE ARE SO SMALL
Hoping we all learned our lesson as children, I've always felt like we must share our home with plants, animals, energy...and that our egos are making it a challenge for other species to share the space with us, when in reality, we are SO SMALL compared to beautiful, floating creatures like whales | i am captivated by the voice over in this video and the well chosen music for the moment when the baby blue interacts with the crew | if you aren't already paying attention to how your actions affect our Earth...just imagine Goliath taking little David down for simply not learning his lesson.

RACHAEL YAMAGATA

COLLIDE
I’ll fascinate you for awhile
My hands in wait to please, so well
When I wake to realize, all I’d done
I’ll be breaking strings
And all you’re gonna feel
Is undone
I will not stay if you ask me to stay
Do not ask me to stay because I will not stay
Why do we always collide
Stuck on two different sides
No resignation, don’t simplify
Its not always about
Your love
What I wake up to find
All I’ve done is unkind
All you’re gonna feel is untied
Untied
Why do we always collide
Stuck on two different sides
Why do we always collide
Stuck on two different sides
Why do we always collide
Stuck on two different sides
Why do we all
Why do we all
